Greetings Rose Fans, WIDOWS, the new heist film from writer-director Steve McQueen is about as far removed from other work as one could imagine. His other films include HUNGER, SHAME and 12 YEARS A SLAVE. Adapted by McQueen and novelist-screenwriter Gillian Flynn (GONE GIRL), WIDOWS is about a group of women who share a debt left behind by their criminal - and now deceased - husbands. The movie costars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Colin Farrell, Jackie Weaver, Robert Duvall and Liam Neeson.

Our four-film, Katherine Hepburn tribute has gotten off to a less than rousing start. The distributor sent the wrong version of LITTLE WOMEN four weeks ago, and last week our copy of BRINGING UP BABY was faulty. My apologies for this. HOLIDAY, playing next Wednesday (12/5) has been received and quality tested. And it's a wonderful movie, one of my favorites; Hepburn and Grant at their best.
