The Rose is the only theatre in the country to play JONI 75: A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION for a week-long engagement. Originally billed as a one-night event at theatres across the country, fans turned out in force in Port Townsend - despite the snow - for this great tribute to singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. One night turned into four sold-out showings, and now the distributor has given permission for a week-long run. It opens Friday in the Rose, and ticket pricing remains the same: $10 Rose members, $15 non-members.

THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD also returns Friday for a week-long run after limited one-night-only showings around the world. Peter Jackson's brilliant homage to the British troops of the First World War with never-before-seen-footage is a moving, profound and a technical marvel. "A tribute paid by the present to the past, and what a gorgeous gift it turns out to be." -Los Angeles Times. $8 Rose members, $12 non-members.

Membership keeps the Rose a strong community cultural center. If you appreciate our programming and great discounts on movies, concessions and special events like JONI 75 and THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD, please consider a membership. More info here.

COLD WAR, the beautiful, mesmerizing Polish film nominated for an Academy Award as Best Foreign Language Film of the year continues its run for another week. "It's as verbally spare as it is visually spellbinding." -Chicago Tribune

GREEN BOOK continues to delight moviegoers in the Starlight Room. It's holding over for another week, sharing the room - beginning Friday - with IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, the Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner from Barry Jenkins (MOONLIGHT). "A work of social realism elevated to poetic heights by the sheer beauty of its voice and the humanism of its spirit." -Variety

SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE and STOP MAKING SENSE - both in the Starlight - are sold out, but tickets are still available for our Classics Night presentation next Wednesday (2/20), of THE MISFITS, starring Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Eli Wallach and Montgomery Clift, and directed by John Huston. It was the last screen appearance for both Monroe and Gable.

ON THE BASIS OF SEX concludes today (2/13), and the OSCAR NOMINATED SHORT FILMS conclude this Thursday (2/14).

Saturday is the last presentation of THE TRAGEDY OF KING RICHARD II from the National Theatre of London. And Sunday the Bolshoi Ballet presents LA BAYADERE.
