This is the first week since we began streaming that we don't have a new film(s) starting, so I'll keep this brief. We do, however, have three films ending their engagements tomorrow, 7/23 - the two French films, SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, ALICE, and the popular documentary CAPITAL IN THE 21st CENTURY. And beginning next Wednesday, 7/29, GORDON LIGHTFOOT: IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND.
The 6-minute film at the top of the newsletter - AM I A MAN? - is courtesy of the San Francisco Dance Film Festival. It features dancers Lil Buck and Jon Boogz, both of whom appeared in dance films as part of our first two dance film festivals. It's a powerful piece about justice in America, was directed by Boogz and Sol Guy, and also features activist and attorney Bryan Stephenson.
